“Don’t put my name in any donation WhatsApp group” — Shan George warns Nollywood
Renowned Nollywood actress Shan George has sent a stern warning to her colleagues in the industry, cautioning them not to solicit her financial support unless they have offered her movie roles.
The veteran actress expressed her frustration with colleagues who frequently include her in various welfare groups seeking monetary assistance for different individuals.
In an Instagram post, Shan George revealed her disappointment, emphasizing that her colleagues seldom extend job opportunities to her, yet they readily involve her in financial contributions that drain her resources.
She stated that on a Thursday morning, she discovered herself added to 15 different WhatsApp groups where financial contributions were being requested.
Shan George urged her colleagues to refrain from involving her in any more welfare groups, pointing out that they seem unconcerned about her own financial well-being.
In her words,
“You have never called me for work before but whenever it’s time to make a contribution, you will form a WhatsApp group and put my name.”
She went on to express her desire for colleagues to consider her for work opportunities, be it a significant movie role or even a small task, so she can support her family.
Shan George concluded her message by stressing that she should not be contacted for financial contributions if her colleagues have not reached out to her for professional opportunities.
