Breaking News: Gas explosion hits Abeokuta, Ogun State

A massive explosion shook Ịta Oshin, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday evening as a gas tanker collided with a trailer, leading to widespread devastation.

Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as flames engulfed nearby vehicles and buildings.

According to Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Divisional Commander of Mile 2 and Rander, Toyin Adejumo, the incident was caused by a brake failure, highlighting the dangers of transporting hazardous materials.

Sadly, the collision resulted in one death, with four cars destroyed and extensive property damage.

As at the time of this report, Fire Service, Police and other enforcement agencies are at the scene if the incident.

The fire service team has put out the fire as the Polish are making effort to restore normalcy in the environment.

As investigations into the cause of the brake failure continue, communities are reminded of the urgent need for road safety measures.
