Lionel Messi Needs To Watch His Back — A Ballon D’or Invasion Incoming

Lionel Messi only has 3 Champions League medals not 4 -- UEFA

The race for the 2023 Ballon d’Or is heating up, and it seems that Lionel Messi may have some competition to look out for. Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker for Manchester City, is currently ranked second in the Ballon d’Or power rankings, and his recent form suggests that he may be a serious contender for the award.

Haaland has been in sensational form this season, scoring 43 goals and providing five assists in all competitions. His recent performances have been particularly impressive, and he seems to have smelled blood in the water in terms of the Ballon d’Or. If he can lead Manchester City to three trophies by the end of the season, he could well be in with a chance of winning the award.

However, Haaland is not the only player in contention for the Ballon d’Or. Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United striker, is currently ranked seventh in the power rankings. He has scored 30 goals and provided nine assists this season, and if he continues his form until the end of the campaign, he could well surpass 40 goals.

Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian winger for Real Madrid, is also in contention for the award. He has scored 20 goals and provided 15 assists this season, and helped his team to win the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. His performances have been particularly impressive in La Liga, and he could be a real threat in the Champions League.

Another player to watch out for is Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker for Napoli. He has scored 25 goals and provided five assists this season, and his goals have fired his team to the brink of the Serie A title. If he can help Napoli to win the Champions League, he could well be in with a chance of winning the Ballon d’Or.

However, the player to beat is still Lionel Messi. The Argentine superstar has won the award eight times already, but his grip on the prize is beginning to slip. He has scored 30 goals and provided 21 assists this season, and helped his team to win the World Cup and the Trophee des Champions. However, his performances in the Champions League have been disappointing, and his next move is reportedly playing on his mind.

As the race for the 2023 Ballon d’Or heats up, it remains to be seen who will come out on top. With several players in contention, including Haaland, Rashford, Vinicius Junior, and Osimhen, it promises to be a fascinating battle. However, Messi will be determined to hold onto his crown and secure a ninth Ballon d’Or title.
