We Don't Feel Like Champions -- Xavi Hernandez

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has downplayed suggestions that his team is already champions of LaLiga, despite their impressive 2-1 victory over Real Madrid on Sunday. The win saw the Catalan giants move 12 points clear at the top of the table, with just 12 games remaining in the season.

Real Madrid took an early lead through an own goal by Ronald Araujo, but Barcelona equalized just before half-time through Sergi Roberto. The match looked set to end in a draw, but Franck Kessie scored an injury-time winner to seal the three points for Barcelona.

Despite the comfortable lead at the top of the table, Xavi Hernandez remains cautious and insists that there is still work to do before his team can be crowned champions.

“The league is not decided but it’s a huge win of course. There are 12 games left, we don’t feel like champions yet,” Xavi said in a post-match interview.

Xavi praised his team’s performance, claiming that they were the better side on the day and created more chances. He also expressed his delight for the players and their hard work.

“It’s a step forward and I’m very happy for the players,” he added.

Barcelona has been in excellent form this season, with the team playing as a unit and scrapping out necessary points in the La Liga. The team has put together an impressive run of results in recent weeks and looks set to end their wait for a league title.

However, with 12 games remaining, including some tricky fixtures, Xavi Hernandez knows that his team cannot afford to get complacent and will need to maintain their high level of performance to secure the title, and from what he has said, Barcelona are not Champions yet.
