What Darwin Nunez did at Full Time against Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez found himself under scrutiny following his lackluster performance in the match against Tottenham Hotspur, with his actions at full-time captured in a video circulating online.

The Uruguayan forward was substituted in the 75th minute of the 4-2 victory over Spurs, replacing Luis Diaz. However, Nunez failed to make a significant impact, missing a good opportunity and also being caught offside when setting up Mo Salah for a chance.

Liverpool supporters, growing impatient with Nunez’s performance given the hefty fee paid for his services, took to social media to express their disappointment. Many fans suggested that Liverpool should consider parting ways with the former Benfica player in the summer transfer window.

In a telling move, Nunez seemingly removed all Liverpool-related pictures from his Instagram profile, leaving only posts related to Uruguay and his family.

The criticism intensified as a video emerged showing Darwin Nunez heading straight down the tunnel at the conclusion of the game, while his teammates remained on the pitch to shake hands with the opposition. However, the clip did capture a brief embrace between Nunez and Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso before his exit.

Despite scoring 18 goals across all competitions for Liverpool this season, including 11 in the Premier League, questions persist regarding Nunez’s effectiveness as the focal point of Liverpool’s attack.

The Uruguayan still has four years remaining on his contract with Liverpool, and the pressure is still on for Darwin Nunez to demonstrate his worth and justify manager Jurgen Klopp’s faith in him.
