Arteta to go for £100m midfielder again vs. Man City

It appears Declan Rice isn’t going to be the last  £100m midfielder that Mikel Arteta will bring to the Emirates and like it was last summer, the Arsenal boss is ready to gun for his man with a familiar foe in Pep Guardiola.

According to reports, Manchester City and Arsenal are set to battle for the signature of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United this summer. The Brazil midfielder, currently under contract with the Magpies until 2028, has a £100 million release clause that can be activated by prospective bidders before June 24.

Guimaraes, 26, has been a standout performer for Newcastle, contributing seven goals and ten assists across all competitions this season. His impressive form has attracted the attention of both City and Arsenal, who previously vied for Declan Rice’s signature last summer. Ultimately, the England international chose to join the Gunners.

Bruno Guimaraes

As the transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta can outmaneuver Pep Guardiola to secure Guimaraes for Arsenal, or if Manchester City will succeed in adding him to their squad.

Despite Newcastle United failing to qualify for an European spot this season, midfield maestro, Bruno Guimares was one of the highlights to the Magpies’ season, inspiring calls for a move just under a year of arriving at the Saint James’ Park.
