"I have to do it alone" -- Erik ten Hag on Manchester United defeat

Manchester United could really do with an end of the season right now after getting stumped 4-0 by London side Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park.

In a stunning upset that saw the Palace side consisting of Olise, Mateta and Mitchel do the damage against a Manchester United team that arrived to the ground low on confidence and man power, the Eagles secured a crushing victory against Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils.

Adding insult to injury, Manchester United via this match have now conceded a staggering 81 goals in all competitions this season, matching a record last seen in the 1976-77 season.

To compound their misery, Chelsea now sit ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League standings, leapfrogging the Red Devils to within distance of making it to the European spots next season.

Following the disappointing result, ten Hag addressed the media, vowing to persevere despite the challenges.

“I will keep fighting. I have to do it with the players who are available,” he asserted, acknowledging the depleted state of his squad.

Reflecting on the match, he remarked, “We should’ve kept fighting like the fans did,” acknowledging the resilience of the supporters amidst the team’s struggles.
