The Only Way Maguire Can Play For Manchester United—Ten Hag

Say what you want about England’s best Centre Back and Manchester United’s most criticized player, Harry Maguire, but he does have his supporters with former England manager, Sam Allardyce coming to his defense.

Big Sam, as the former manager is popularly refered to by his critics and fans alike, has risen to the defense of Harry Maguire to criticize Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag over his treatment of the Red Devils captain.

On Thursday night, when Manchester United overcame Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0 in the Europa League, the England international returned to the team for a brief cameo in the second half.

Maguire struggled this season at the Theatre of Dreams and was fired after a string of terrible performances.

Both defenders were better coordinated and assisted United in building a four-match winning streak. Erik ten Hag favours Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez in his middle defense.

Former Premier League manager, Sam Allardyce thinks that Ten Hag is not treating the England international well given his recent slump.

He stated to the Manchester Evening News:

“It’s scandalous, what’s happening. This is out and out trying to destroy somebody.

“Everybody’s on his back … to put out what’s been put out, no-one can withstand that pressure.

“That sort of criticism in every way, shape or form – it’s bound to affect Harry.”

Despite what Sam Allardyce thinks of Harry Maguire, the Manchester United faithful will prefer the club gaining maximum points over their Captain being given favored treatments if it meant not getting the needed results.

Of course, there is no doubt, every manager or pundit alike has their own opinion over the matter.
