Alejandro Garnacho leaves Man United fans fearing the worse

Manchester United fans have raised eyebrows over the activity of Alejandro Garnacho on his Twitter account following the team’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.

Despite trailing twice at Dean Court with goals from Dominic Solanke and Justin Kluivert, Bruno Fernandes managed to salvage a point for Erik ten Hag’s side with a brace, including a penalty in the second half.

However, the draw dealt a blow to United’s aspirations for Champions League qualification.

The match wasn’t without controversy as referee Tony Harrington initially awarded a penalty for a foul by Willy Kambwala and Ryan Christie, only for VAR to intervene and rule that the incident occurred outside the box.

Garnacho played a pivotal role in the game, assisting Fernandes for United’s first-half goal but also being involved in the buildup to Bournemouth’s opener, leading to a mixed performance for the Argentine.

Manager Erik ten Hag made a halftime substitution, replacing Garnacho with Amad Diallo.

This decision drew criticism from fans, with Garnacho’s Twitter account liking posts from Mark Goldbridge that defended the player’s performance and questioned Ten Hag’s comments in the post-match press conference.

Ten Hag explained his decision by stating,

“Garnacho was during the week not training. Only yesterday. We thought to bring some energy and bring some more quality, quality in the sense of cooperation and togetherness on that right-hand side.”
