Nigerians should attack the Strikers not Uzoho -- Jose Peseiro

Jose Peseiro shields Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho from criticisms following Nigeria’s draw versus Saudi Arabia in the 2-2 clash in Portugal at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao..

The Omonia goalie, conceded two goals in Nigeria’s goal while starting against Saudi in the clash, from set piece situations that Nigerian fans claim he should be saving from.

However according to the Super Eagles coach, Peseiro feels the blame shouldn’t be on Francis Uzoho but more on the attackers for not finishing off the chances that were created.

Peseiro stated,

“I like our players, when they make mistakes it is my responsibility. The goalkeepers never play free or calm because of the people. I don’t know why they attack the goalkeepers every time.

“Why don’t they attack the strikers when they lose the ball or miss a goal, why? They could make mistakes, it is my responsibility. Next time, I need to train him (Uzoho) better.”
