Andre Onana doesn't want Man United move -- Journalist reveals

As Andre Onana’s transfer to Manchester United edges closer, the Cameroonian goalkeeper is reportedly feeling a mixture of emotions, with a sense of sadness accompanying his excitement about the impending move, according to claims made by journalist Matteo Barzaghi.

Reports suggest that Manchester United is nearing the signing of Onana from Inter, with discussions between the two clubs progressing positively. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that a compromise had been reached on an initial fee, and a final agreement was anticipated.

Romano tweeted, “Manchester United are now closing in on Andre Onana deal as final verbal proposal has been made during talks today. Understand it’s €50m (£42.7m) fee plus €5m (£4.2m) add-ons. Structure of add-ons being discussed then… done deal. It’s imminent, as expected.”

While personal terms are expected to be easily agreed upon, Barzaghi’s insights suggest that Onana’s move to Old Trafford will be bittersweet for the player.

The Sky Sports Italy journalist explained that although Onana is pleased to join Erik ten Hag’s team at Manchester United and will also receive a significant salary increase, he is also saddened by the prospect of leaving Inter just one year after joining the club.

Speaking via FCInter1908, Barzaghi shared, “Today, all eyes are on Andre. He arrived at 9:20 am. The fans are, of course, asking him to stay. He’s certainly happy to have the chance to join United, where he will also be in for a pay raise. But he’s also a little sad because he’s been feeling very happy in Milano.”

During his time at Inter, Onana achieved considerable success, winning two trophies and reaching the Champions League final. He has established a strong bond with the club, his teammates, and the city, which makes his departure a poignant moment for him.

Barzaghi further noted that despite leaving Inter, Onana harbors hopes of returning to the Serie A club in the distant future. The goalkeeper’s connection to Inter remains strong, and he is optimistic about the possibility of reuniting with his former teammates and resuming his career at the club.

As the final details of the transfer between Manchester United and Inter are ironed out, Onana’s mixed emotions serve as a reminder of the complex emotions that players often experience when parting ways with a club that has played a significant role in their personal and professional growth.

For Andre Onana, his forthcoming move to Manchester United represents a new chapter in his career, but he also leaves behind cherished memories and aspirations for a potential return to Inter in the future.
