"I'm totally the wrong person" --Tuchel on rumors and Man United

Reports from Germany suggest that Thomas Tuchel, the current Bayern Munich manager, could be open to replacing Erik ten Hag as Manchester United’s manager this summer.

The 50-year-old German manager who is set to depart Bayern Munich at the end of the season, has placed the German side with lots of challenges in finding his successor. Despite approaches to Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick, all have declined the opportunity, prompting Bayern to explore further options, including Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace has heightened speculation around ten Hag’s position at Old Trafford. With the team languishing in eighth place in the Premier League, the prospect of missing out on European football next season looms large.

Sky Germany reports informal contact between Tuchel and Manchester United’s hierarchy. Tuchel is reportedly attracted to the idea of managing at Old Trafford, although his immediate focus remains on reaching the Champions League final with Bayern.

While Tuchel is also open to a return to Chelsea, there is no indication that Mauricio Pochettino’s position is under immediate threat.

Tuchel’s potential extension at Bayern was thrown into doubt following comments by Bayern’s honorary president, Uli Hoeness, who suggested Tuchel was unwilling to develop the club’s younger players.

Tuchel expressed his frustration, stating, “I’m totally the wrong person to contact,” and emphasized that the club initiated discussions about his future in February.
