Manchester United boss suffers backlash over his reaction

Following a 4-0 whooping to Crystal Palace, North West club, Manchester United has all hopes a top-four finish dashed in their 4-0 humiliation at Selhurst Park, however it is one man who draws fans’ ire over the result.

Crystal Palace, led by Manchester United transfer target Michael Olise, who netted twice, alongside goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell, dominated the game from the start. The defeat marked a significant milestone for United, as it was their 13th league defeat of the season, a first in Premier League history.

In the aftermath of the shameful performance, United players made their way over to the traveling fans to acknowledge their support despite the disappointing result. However, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was notably absent from the gesture, opting to head straight down the tunnel instead of facing the supporters.

This decision by Ten Hag has triggered outrage among Manchester United fans, with many expressing their discontent on social media platforms. Fans condemned the manager’s actions, labeling them as disrespectful and a sign of his detachment from the club’s values.

With speculation rife about Ten Hag’s future, particularly amid links to the vacant Bayern Munich job, fans are questioning whether his tenure at United may be coming to an end. Some fans even went as far as to suggest that Ten Hag’s behavior was indicative of his impending departure.

However, amidst the uncertainty surrounding Ten Hag’s future, no decision has been announced by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Speculation continues to swirl, with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel emerging as a potential replacement if United opt to part ways with the Dutchman this summer.

In response to the fan backlash, football pundit Jamie Carragher praised the United supporters for their unwavering dedication, emphasizing that the players did not deserve the negative reaction they received. Carragher highlighted the incredible support shown by the fans, suggesting that it was a testament to their loyalty and passion for the club.
