"It just doesn’t feel like it now" -- Paul Scholes

Former Manchester United Paul Scholes doesn’t feel there is any more patience for Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford following the 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.

The Manchester United legend in a damning assessment of the club’s manager, in the Monday affair, labeled it as the “final nail in the coffin” for the Dutchman.

The defeat leaves Manchester United facing the stark possibility of missing out on European football altogether next season, intensifying speculation over ten Hag’s future at the club.

Speaking on Premier League Productions alongside Michael Owen, Paul Scholes expressed his belief that the defeat signaled the end for Ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford.

“It’s been a difficult one,” Scholes remarked. “I know Michael’s saying he’s felt it for a long time, and the signs have been there that it’s going to be difficult for him to do it next year. But tonight felt like the final nail in the coffin, really.”

Scholes continued, expressing uncertainty about the options available should Ten Hag depart, stating, “If it is the end, I’m not sure what’s out there at the minute. I’ve felt he might get another year and work for a club that has calmed down a little bit by the new owners, but it just doesn’t feel like it now.”
