"Why I made the post attacking Nigerians" -- Francis Uzoho

Francis Uzoho for now is one goalkeeper Nigerians may not want to think of at the moment, owing to his recent performances with the national team.

Evident from his mistakes against Saudi Arabia while on international duties during the international break, the Super Eagles player faced a host of online criticisms from his performances that head coach, Jose Peseiro had to come in to defend him.

The Portuguese coach insisted that he found no faults in Francis Uzoho’s performances, and instead blamed the attackers for not finishing off their chances against Saudi Arabia.

However, the following game versus fellow African side, Mozambique did not help Uzoho’s profile as the Super Eagles goalie as he yet again conceded 2 goals in a 3-2 win.

In the aftermath of the game, Francis Uzoho took to his snapchat to blast his critics, a move which earned him more infamy than he could imagine.

According to his post, Francis Uzoho captioned in pidgin;

“If easy go do am, make oyibo man sign you”, with peace emoji.

Reacting latter on to the overwhelmingly negative response the post attracted, Francis Uzoho released another post, explaining why he made the initial post.

According to the Nigerian, he said;

“My actions were more a result of frustration stemming from the actions of someone in my circle (will keep the identity private for now).

He latter went on to apologize for the post, stating;

“It has come to my attention that my recent Snapchat has not been my best behaviour towards you all as my loyal fans.

“I apologize for this as it was not my intention to conduct myself in such a manner toward the fans who have supported and motivated me through my career.

“Accepting criticism is part of my job and one that I often welcome from the people who continue to support me.

“I accept your criticisms with the utmost respect and understanding that you all want me to do better.

“I want you all to know that I continue to grow daily as a person and in my career and you all are a vital part of my growth and success. My actions are aimed to reflect this and will continue to do so”.
