When it comes to speaking on the subject, Carlo Ancelotti however chooses to act coy on the matter, specifically when pushed for a quote on whether the France international is likely to link up with the La Liga side soon.

According to the Italian, the squad is complete even without the Frenchman donning the white jersey.

Ancelotti said this following their 2-0 friendly triumph over Manchester United in Houston in their pre-season tour of the USA.

Despite the exit of Karim Benzema to the Saudi Pro League and ongoing links with Mbappé, Carlo Ancelotti feels his squad is good enough even without any Frenchman striker leading the charge.

“The squad is fine. We won’t have problems with the squad. A problem would be having a squad without quality … The squad is great. It’s complete,” Ancelotti told reporters.

When asked specifically about Mbappé, the Italian chose to stay political with his response, telling the reporters instead to ask the “Next question.”
