Reece James opens up on why Chelsea failed last season

Some players didn’t want to be at Chelsea last season, Reece James opens up about the Blues’ miserable 2022-23 season.

To say the 2022/23 season was a failure for Chelsea would be an understatement, it was a colossal failure that forced the Stamford Bridge side to be content at 12th place, the worst the Blues has ever sat at in modern times.

Speaking on the flop of a season the team had, Reece James opens up on the squad having to deal with so many changes under a short span of time in between a competitive season.

The club despite finishing 12th in the league table, failed massively to come out with a silverware as consolation.

The Blues according to Reece James failed to find stability after going through three different changes including managerial changes in one season.

The England star also attributed the epic fail due to the mentality of certain players who apparently had one foot out the door already.

“It is going to be a tough season. Last season was the toughest I have experienced,” James said at a press conference about the upcoming season.

“We are moving in the right direction, it was very difficult last season because there was lots of change, some players did not want to be there because they were not playing,” he added.

Chelsea following last season’s fail will be one of the league’s most interesting sides to watch this season, and if their pre-season games are anything to go by, confidence appears to be cooking in the Blues.
