Daniel Levy concedes defeat as Harry Kane departs Spurs

The long standing drama between Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Kane has officially ended as the England international has joined Bayern Munich in the aftermath of a loggerhead between Spurs and the Bundesliga club.

Harry Kane joins Munich following a 10-year stint with the North London side as a senior player, scoring in total of 213 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in roughly 317 appearances, marking him as Spurs’ record goal scorer.

Reacting to the move to Bayern Munich, Kane said;

“I’m very happy to be part of Bayern, one of the biggest clubs in the world and I’ve always said that I want to move and prove myself at the highest level in my career,”

However, Spurs’ chairman, Daniel Levy on the transfer revealed that multiple attempts were made to keep the star player at the club, whether long term or short term, with Kane’s mind set for another challenge.

“We tried to offer Kane and his camp different forms of new contract both short and long term”

“Harry was clear that he wanted a fresh challenge and would not be signing a new contract this summer.

The shrewd boss behind the scenes notes the reluctance the club’s hierarchy feels letting go of the player in the summer transfer.

“We have reluctantly, therefore, agreed to his transfer”.
