Former Chelsea star close to Premier League return

After moving to Chelsea in a widely reported transfer summer where his name was one of the most talked about topic in the 2019/20 season, Timo Werner failed to live up to the hype and expectation during his time in the premier league.

And now, according to reports by Fabrizio Romano, the Germany international is about to gain a second shot at Europe’s most watched league, with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Timo Werner was widely reported to have been on Manchester United shortlist for a summer window, however, North London side, Tottenham have swooped into the mix to nab the RB Leipzig forward from the Bundesliga.

Reporting on the move, Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano states that Spurs are on the verge of finalizing the deal, with the former Chelsea player keen on a premier league return.

The transfer is a 6-month loan deal that sees Werner link up with Spurs’ manager, Ange Postecoglou who the German forward is keen to play under at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The move will surely bring Timo Werner up against his former club of which he helped win the Champions League with in the 2020/21 season under Thomas Tuchel.

Spurs themselves are in a top 4 battle and currently sit 1 point behind North London rivals, Arsenal in the premier league standings.
