Tottenham Hotspur to launch late strike on deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly gearing up for a potentially busy end to the window, with a four-man shortlist in sight. Despite a relatively quiet transfer period for Premier League clubs, Spurs have already secured the signings of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin.

Currently occupying the fifth spot in the Premier League, just three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and eight points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, Spurs are eyeing reinforcements to strengthen their position in the top-four race.

Earlier reports indicated that Tottenham had set sights on Club Brugge’s Antonio Nusa, only to be outmaneuvered by London rivals Brentford. The Bees sealed a £25 million deal for Nusa, with the player set to be loaned back to the Belgian club for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

Undeterred by the setback, Spurs are now said to have a four-man shortlist of alternative options.

According to Sky Sports and the Daily Express via Team Talk, Tottenham Hotspur could turn their attention to Juventus’s Samuel Iling-Junior, with an offer of approximately €25 million deemed sufficient to lure the player away from the Serie A giants.

Another Juventus talent, Matias Soule, is also reportedly on the shortlist, offering Ange Postecoglou additional options for squad enhancement.

Fenerbahce’s Sebastian Szymanski, who has been prolific with 17 goals in 24 matches this season, is another player catching Tottenham’s eye, according to reports. The club is considering a move for the talented midfielder to bolster their ranks.

Lastly, Tottenham Hotspur may register interest in Al Ittihad star Jota, a player familiar to manager Ange Postecoglou from their time together at Celtic.

Despite Jota’s recent move to the Saudi Professional League during the summer transfer window, widespread reports suggest the player is keen on a return to European football.

Tottenham’s move could rival West Ham’s who reportedly are in negotiations to also sign the player.
