Why its not 'Impossible' for Paul Pogba after the 4-year ban?

How did it all go downhill for Paul Pogba?

Paul Pogba at one point in his football career, was quite the household name; the perfect midfielder if you will — balanced in attacking and defensive play. However, down the line the Frenchman’s career took a hit. Controversy upon controversy, rumor upon rumor.

Things started to a shift for Paul Pogba at Manchester United, specifically under the management of Jose Mourinho who was at the time, the Red Devils’ boss. Media narratives were alleged to have been the bane of their relationship, leading to the Portuguese manager’s sack after a barren run of inconsistent results on the pitch and allegations of dressing room split.

In came Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Though, Paul Pogba had no issues or rift with the Norwegian manager, media narratives were on the high for the Frenchman who became the fall guy at points when results started taking a turn. Still, the Frenchman continued with Manchester United, with managerial changes upon managerial changes until his contract was rundown, and his inevitable return to Juventus happened.

But Juventus was where it all ended for the great Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman from the beginning, suffered one injury setback upon setback, hindering his impact in the team. Then came the family and blackmail controversy from his brother that painted a darker picture of Pogba in the media.

Why its not 'Impossible' for Paul Pogba after the 4-year ban?

The peak of the Juventus midfielder’s problems came when Pogba was randomly selected for a drug test, which he tested positive for having a drug identified as DHEA in his system. This set the anti-doping regulations on him.

Following investigations, a verdict has now been reached, and despite Pogba’s defensive of injesting the drug accidentally, the former Manchester United player has received a ban of 4-years.

The midfielder is currently 30-years old, which means his potential return will be at the age of 34. 34-years is often the age a professional football career starts to take the dip, with the average footballer losing fitness to play consistently at the highest level.

For a player who has been out of it for 4-years, getting back in would be harder on Paul Pogba, which means the only logically end is an anti climatic retirement for the World Cup winner.

But can Pogba still return to football? Nothing is impossible, but in a logical sense, a pro-managerial career should be the route for the Frenchman if he were to return to the field.
