West Ham Midfielder open to joining Arsenal in the Summer

Declan Rice, currently a midfielder for West Ham United is reportedly open to the idea of joining Arsenal. Rice has been one of the Gunners’ key transfer targets, and the club will hold talks with the Hammers captain once the season concludes.

According to the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel, Rice is Arsenal’s priority target in central midfield, with manager Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen that area by adding potentially two players.

The Gunners have had a successful season so far, remaining in contention for the Premier League title with five games left to play.

Although they suffered a 4-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City last week, the club is still hoping for other results involving Pep Guardiola’s side to go their way if they want to lift their first Premier League crown since 2004.

Looking ahead to this summer, Arsenal’s hopes of signing Rice have reportedly been boosted by their qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The Gunners will play in the competition for the first time in over six years. Guardiola described that achievement as a key step in the club’s development under Arteta, stating that financially, it would help with new signings.

Ian Wright, Arsenal legend, expressed his excitement about the club’s future, stating that everything at the club was about winning. The Gunners are aiming to finish as high as possible this season, but their sights are set on future success, including potentially signing Rice to strengthen their midfield.

Rice has become a key player for West Ham United, making 42 appearances in all competitions this season, contributing two goals and one assist.

However, with the Hammers currently sitting fifth in the Premier League and still in contention for a European place, they will be reluctant to let go of their star midfielder. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to secure Rice’s signature and strengthen their squad for next season’s campaign.
