"We can see what is wrong with Manchester United" -- Shearer

Former Newcastle legend Alan Shearer does not hold back in his criticism of Manchester United and its attacking duo of Antony and Alejandro Garnacho, following the club’s recent 2-0 defeat against West Ham United.

Shearer’s comments came during his analysis on Match of the Day after the disappointing display at the London Stadium.

“Really embarrassing from a United point of view – 18 goals this season,” Shearer expressed, pointing out the stark goal-scoring statistics.

The football pundit emphasized the urgent need for more attacking presence within the box, highlighting the poor passes, incorrect decision-making, and lack of chances created during the match.

Addressing the performances of Antony and Garnacho, Shearer remarked,

“That should be happening per game, not over five or six games! We can see what is drastically wrong, and they [Antony and Garnacho] are never going to score goals unless they improve on that.”

The critique from Shearer underlines the pressing issue within Manchester United‘s attacking strategy, particularly concerning the inability to convert opportunities into goals.

Manchester United so far have endured the worse of forms this season, with the Red Devils failing to score in their last 4 games.

In that time, the Old Trafford side has seen defeats to AFC Bournemouth, West Ham United, FC Bayern Munich and failed to secure a win against Liverpool.
