How the mighty are fallen…

There was a time Barcelona once stood as a club to envy in Europe. They had a global fan base, they were a brand that sells.

Every player wanted to play there and join the elites and make waves.

But the era is long gone. At least for the moment, as the Catalan club has been entrenched in financial hardships due to poor investments and decisions over the years.

Those decisions have now come back to haunt the club, as due to the outstanding debts accrued over the years, and football Financial Fair Play regulations in play in the La Liga, the club cannot run its affairs without balancing the check books.

The club is not allowed to register in new players signed unless the check books are balanced.

Now, it’s circulated in reports that the club will look to garner funds through its famous stadium; the Camp Nou.

The club has now placed a bargain fee for parties ready to host wedding ceremonies on the ground for as low as €1, 600 to €13,500 which when converted to Nigerian currency ranges from 990,000 naira to 8.3 Million naira.

The club is also willing to let fans play 60 minutes games in the stadium for €300 which in Nigeria currency translates to 185k naira per persons.

It’s the scorched Earth at Camp Nou now.
