Carlo Ancelotti renews terms with Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti ignores speculations surrounding his future at the Santiago Bernabeu to pen a new deal with the La Liga club.

Initial reports had hinted at Ancelotti’s potential departure from Real Madrid as his contract was slated to conclude on June 30, 2023.

Speculations intensified further when murmurs emerged linking the seasoned Italian tactician to a possible role as head coach for Brazil’s national team.

However, Ancelotti promptly dismissed these claims, leaving his career path shrouded in unpredictability.

Real Madrid’s loss of the Spanish La Liga title to FC Barcelona in the previous season added to the speculation that Ancelotti might not continue with the club.

Nevertheless, on December 29, the club silenced all doubts by officially confirming Ancelotti’s contract extension, binding him to Real Madrid until the culmination of the 2025-2026 season.

A statement released via the club’s official website detailed,

“Real Madrid CF and Carlo Ancelotti have agreed to extend our coach’s contract until June 30, 2026. In his five seasons as coach of Real Madrid, he has won 10 titles…”

Ancelotti’s tenure boasts an impressive track record, securing an array of accolades during his managerial stint, including multiple Champions League triumphs, Club World Cups, European Super Cups, league titles, and domestic cup victories.

His legacy further shines as the sole coach to claim four European Cups and to amass the highest number of victories in this esteemed competition, standing at an impressive 118 wins.

Additionally, Ancelotti holds the distinction of being the first coach to conquer the top five European Leagues – Italy, England, France, Germany, and Spain.
