Lazy Nigerian Youths: Super Eagles coach reacts to Ecuador loss

1-0 defeat

It appeared to be same old story with Nigeria super eagles team as they fell to defeat in another friendly game again after their 1-0 defeat to South American team, Ecuador, in their tour of the US.

The loss makes it 11th friendly without a win in succession, and continues the theme of no win since the AFCON elimination at the hands of Tunisia.

It goes a long way to show the consistent of the Nigerian Eagles. Consistent in which the Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro is left battled by.

Starting your first 2 games, never mind if it’s a friendly, with back to back losses is never the stat ratio a Manager would want in their career. It certainly signifies an omen; whether good or bad, it’s to be seen.

For the second time in four days, Nigeria conceded an early goal when Ecuador defender, Pervis Estupinan, headed home a free kick inside the opening three minutes.

A goal so careless that it spoke very much about the focus and mentality the Super Eagles team came into the game with.

The goal though, seemed to shake off the team’s slumber, but sadly wasn’t enough to spur their legs when it came to converting chances in front of goal as the team had ample opportunities to get into game.

Speaking after the game, Peseiro was furious with the team’s attitude and level of concentration during the opening minutes of the game.

“We have players that can control, move and command the game, but we didn’t in the first 15 minutes against Ecuador,” the Super Eagles Coach remarked on the team’s performance.

As Sierra Leone lies in waiting, Peseiro would be hoping to turn the tides and get his first victory, cause as it stands, the Sierra Leonean camp would be rubbing their palms with confidence after seeing the Eagles’ recent form.
