I Don’t Like This—Antonio Conte Slams EPL

The premier league sure has a way of driving managers mad with its fixture list and congestions, with the likes of Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp being vocal against it, and the latest manager to join in its criticism is Tottenham Hotspur boss, Antonio Conte.

Antonio Conte has criticized the Premier League’s match scheduling.

The Tottenham manager is concerned about how athletes will adjust to playing again right away after the World Cup.

Antonio Conte stated that having extra time to work with his players who had just returned from the tournament would have been ideal.

Before the World Cup break, Spurs lost three of their previous five league games.

On Boxing Day, they will play Brentford. Conte feels that the games were scheduled too soon.

“It is a strange situation and honestly to play so quickly – only one week after the World Cup – I am not really happy,” the former Chelsea boss told the press ahead of the game.

Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table, eight points behind league leaders Arsenal.

After a month hiatus for the Qatar world cup, the world’s most watched league returns on boxing day with Spurs taking on Brentford early in the afternoon.
