Emma Chukwugoziam Obi is an American-born Nigerian singer, song writer, an actress, and a model. Ema is an Igbo descent woman who came from Delta State.

EARLY LIFE
She was born in Tyler, Texas, United States. In the year 1988, July 18th. After Ema completed her Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration in 2010, she decided that she wanted to move to Nigeria pursue her dreams of modelling, acting, and most of all, singing. Having lived in the United States, for majority of her life, then moving officially to Nigeria in early 2012,

EDUCATION
She attended St. Gregory Catholic School, Andy Woods Elementary School, Hornedo Middle School, and Franklin High School before obtaining her degree in Health Care Administration at Texas Southern University.

CAREER
In 2011, Emma Nyra released her debut singles titled “Do It” and “Everything I Do” while still in the United States of America. Upon her return to Nigeria in 2012, she started working with D’Tunes and Iyanya, whom she met in 2010 while still in the United States of America.

In March 2012, Emma Nyra signed a recording contract with Made Men Music Group headed by Ubi Franklin. Before making her debut in the Nigerian music industry, Emma Nyra has made a vocal appearance in Iyanya hit single “Ur Waist”.

In 2013, Emma Nyra was voted as the Most Promising Act to Watch at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Between 2013 and 2014, Emma Nyra went on to release several hit singles which saw her touring the United States and Canada respectively. She has since worked with the likes of Davido, Patoranking, Iyanya, Wizkid, Sele Bobo, Olu Maintain, among others.

In 2015, Emma Nyra was listed on lists of 15 Artists to Watch in 2015. Her first debut studio album titled “Emma Nyra Hot Like Fiya Vol. 1” is yet to be released.

Apart from music, Emma Nyra is also an actress. She has appeared in three movies which include American Driver, Rebound and The Re-Union. In 2014, Emma Nyra ended her recording contract with Made Men Music Group.

According to Emma Nyra, she was abuse with physical and verbal force from her then manager Ubi Franklin as the reason why she left the label imprint “Made Men Music Group”. The allegations were however denied by Ubi Franklin.
