Arsenal make first contact with Victor Osimhen

Arsenal seem very ready to challenge for the premier league title and remain in the conversations for the big titles as reports state the North London side have established first contact with Victor Osimhen and his representatives.

According to reports, the Gunners have emerged as a leading contender in the pursuit of Napoli’s striking sensation, Victor Osimhen, as they eye a potential club-record deal.

Arsenal are keen to bolster their attacking lineup, with reports indicating that they are seeking a new number 9 this January. The struggles of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah to find the net in the Premier League have prompted Arsenal’s intensified search for a prolific goal scorer.

Osimhen, highly sought after in the transfer market, has attracted interest from multiple clubs, with Chelsea also reportedly keen on acquiring the Nigerian striker.

Speculation even hinted at Arsenal considering a player-plus-cash deal involving Gabriel Jesus to entice Osimhen to move to North London.

Despite recent talks of a potential move, Italian outlet CalcioNapoli24 has revealed that Osimhen might be on the brink of committing to a new contract with Napoli. This surprising turn of events comes just months after it seemed inevitable that he would depart from the Serie A side.

Nonetheless, Arsenal remains undeterred in their pursuit, allegedly making contact with Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda.

However, if Osimhen indeed extends his stay in Naples, it’s speculated that his release clause could surge to a staggering €130 million. This could necessitate Arsenal breaking their current transfer record to secure his services.

While Arsenal fans eagerly anticipate a possible breakthrough, previous comments by Osimhen hinting at a preference for a move to Chelsea might raise concerns among the Gunners faithful.

In an appearance on ‘The Obi One podcast’ alongside former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, Osimhen disclosed his possession of jerseys from both Chelsea and Manchester United, adding that the Premier League holds immense appeal for African players.
