"We can't control what Liverpool or Arsenal do" -- Guardiola

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has cut a frustrated figure as the premier league title challenge continues to take a direction that leaves things out of the Cityzens’ control as the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa keep mounting the challenge.

The premier league table remains a very tight one at this stage, and should Arsenal steal a win against Sheffield United tonight, the heat remains on Manchester City to keep winning.

However, even at that, the former Barcelona manager, is not guaranteed of a top spot finish if a certain Merseyside club, Liverpool keeps winning.

“We can’t control what Liverpool or Arsenal, Aston Villa, or other contenders do; it is about us,” Guardiola asserted.

His remarks comes during a media briefing following Manchester City’s impressive 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Acknowledging Liverpool’s resurgence and Arsenal’s consistency as key contenders, Guardiola underscored the importance of focusing solely on City’s performance rather than concerning themselves with the actions of their rivals.

Reflecting on City’s current standing in the league, Guardiola expressed confidence in his team’s abilities, labeling them as “legendary.”

Despite uncertainties about the outcome of the title race, Guardiola noted that City boasts more points at this stage of the season compared to the previous year.

While acknowledging Liverpool’s impressive form, Guardiola did manager to extend his congratulations to their performance thus far.

Knowing the tactician, this could be a cry to premier league opponents of Liverpool and Arsenal to wake up to the challenge of stopping the Reds and the Gunners from posing any threat to City.
