We working with Our reality -- Pochettino on signing Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain’s star player, Kylian Mbappe, has spoken out in response to the intense backlash he has faced after sending a letter to the club expressing his decision not to extend his contract beyond 2024.

The 2018 World Cup winner’s stance has ignited anger within PSG, leading to reports of the club making him available for sale during the summer transfer window.

Mbappe’s letter, in which he conveyed his intention to leave the club when his current deal expires, has not been received well by PSG.

The club’s management is reportedly frustrated with the situation, as they aim to avoid the risk of losing the prolific striker for free when his contract concludes in June 2024. President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is said to be particularly furious with Mbappe’s decision.

In the wake of the backlash, Mbappe has expressed surprise at the level of fury directed towards him following the submission of his letter. In a statement to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the French forward stated,

“Honestly, I did not think I was going to offend anyone. I only sent a letter. I didn’t know a letter could kill someone. It’s just a letter. I don’t care about the reactions.”

Mbappe’s comments reflect his disbelief at the magnitude of the response triggered by his contract decision. While he acknowledges the importance of his choice, he expresses a degree of detachment from the strong reactions it has elicited.

The situation surrounding Mbappe’s future at PSG has created significant speculation regarding his potential transfer this summer. Many top clubs across Europe are closely monitoring the developments, with the French striker considered one of the most sought-after talents in the game.

As the saga continues to unfold, Mbappe’s focus will likely shift towards his performances on the field, ensuring he maintains his exceptional form despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his club future.

Meanwhile, PSG will undoubtedly evaluate their options and determine the best course of action in light of Mbappe’s contractual situation.
