Richarlison On Real Madrid Shortlist To Replace Benzema

Real Madrid is reportedly eyeing Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison as part of a three-man shortlist to replace Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo. The other two players on the list are Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

Benzema’s contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the season, and the club is expected to offer the Ballon d’Or winner a short-term deal at the least. However, Real Madrid is said to be preparing for the possibility that Benzema may not renew his contract or for future purposes, hence the list of players.

Richarlison has struggled to find his footing at Tottenham this season, scoring only two goals and registering four assists in 26 matches for Antonio Conte’s side so far this term. Nevertheless, Real Madrid reportedly sees potential in the Brazilian international.

Mbappe was linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, but he decided to stay with PSG. Ramos, on the other hand, rose to prominence during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar when he scored a hat-trick against Switzerland in the round of 16.

Real Madrid has a reputation for signing some of the world’s best players, and the club’s fans will be keen to see who will replace Benzema, who has been one of their key players for over a decade. It remains to be seen which of the three players on the shortlist will be chosen to fill Benzema’s shoes, or if Benzema will stay at Real Madrid after all.
