Pep Guardiola speaks on leaving Manchester City next season

The time seems to run out on Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola at the club as the press keep calculating his days in England.

Of course, there is no doubt that by now, many Premier League clubs would be eager for Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola to leave the premier league considering how the Spaniard keeps making things so uncomfortable for the big sides.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp is one that always dreams of the time that Guardiola will let him be so he and his Liverpool team can dominate England.

We have seen the English press time without number ask the Spaniard when he would leave the premier league and retire on his pension so the likes of Mikel Arteta, and etcetera can have a breathe and hope to challenge for the league.

In response to all the debates, the questions and wishes, the former Barcelona player and manager revealed what would happen before his contract runs out in 2024.

Pep Guardiola while speaking at a press conference prior to the league opener, revealed he and the club are working out on an extension, much to the despair of rivals.

Although the Catalan did reveal things were not as simple as it could be pertaining to the contract situation, stating:

“In the middle of the season or the end of the season, we will talk again. If they want it, I would like to stay longer but at the same time I have to be sure.

“Sometimes when you force it, it’s not good, you have to relax, this will happen naturally,” Guardiola said.

The Manchester City manager will be entering his seventh season at the Etihad where he has won four league titles.

The Etihad gig has so far become the Spaniard’s longest stint as a manager at any club, following his previous spells at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

With the 51-year-old’s contract with City expiring next summer, he reveals he is open to signing an extension which is rather dependent on the club.

It is also possible that the 4 time Premier League winning manager is rather playing coy and may ultimately decide to call it quits after his current contract expires even while playing politics with the press.
