Andre Onana ranting on Harry Maguire much needed, Lisandro Martinez backs Manchester United teammate for his reaction to former Man United captain’s lapses during Borussia Dortmund defeat.

Cameroonian goalkeeper and former Inter Milan star, Andre Onana drove narratives following his furious rant on England international during their recent pre-season tie against Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund in an eventual 3-2 loss.

When asked of his opinion on the much talked about row by Andre Onana, Man United centre-back defends his new teammate for showing passion to call teammates out on their lapses during games.

Harry Maguire faced the former Inter Milan man’s ire after making a sloppy pass to Christian Eriksen that gifted their opponent a chance at goal to force a save off Onana.

Though the former Ajax star dismissed speculations of issues growing between him and the former captain in the aftermath, Lisandro Martinez feels such reactions are a part of the game and most times needed for the team’s success.

According to Martinez, it calls for everyone in the team to be as sharp as they can be in games.

“It is better for [it]. If you are focused, you can fight with your team-mates as well, you need to make sure everyone is really sharp, but nothing happened. It is part of football,” Martinez was quoted in an interview with ESPN  about the incident.

He added, “He [Andre Onana] has a big personality. He can play football, he can deal with the pressure, he is really positive, he is a leader, that is the style of Manchester United.”
