"No one else to blame" -- Virgil van Dijk after Man United 'loss'

Liverpool have themselves to blame, according to their Skipper, Virgil van Dijk for not capitalizing on the chances given them to move top of the table ahead of Arsenal in their 2-2 draw versus Man United.

Speaking post-match, the frustrated captain, had a few words of regret to echo after the Merseyside giants surrendered a lead in the second half to move back into the second spot of the premier league table.

In a title race, specifically against the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal who don’t look like dropping points, a draw is as good as a defeat.

Virgil van Dijk echoes same sentiments in his post-match analysis of the 2-2 encounter.

“It feels like a loss, it is our fault again.” the Dutchman sadly stressed.

“We had so many chances and we should finish the game off. Unfortunately, the individual mistake that happened with the equalizer and we had so much time to put it right, but we were in a rush. Still after being 2-1 down, we created so much.”

Ignoring the draw that Liverpool were able to salvage against Man United, Virgil van Dijk and his team were lucky to avoid a devastating defeat at the death, thanks to a penalty awarded them following a foul on substitute Harvey Elliott by Aaron Wan Bissaka.

The Reds head back to Merseyside narrowly sitting in second place but joint top with Arsenal who have a better goal difference.

It may not be over for Liverpool in the title race, but they no longer hold an advantage.
