Man United target changes agent to force Old Trafford move

In a bid to bolster their attacking options, Man United has set their target on Atalanta’s emerging talent, Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old Danish striker has attracted attention with an impressive debut season in Serie A, prompting his desire for a potential transfer.

Reports from Italy indicate that Hojlund has recently changed agents in a move perceived as an effort to facilitate his desired move to a top club.

Hojlund’s impact in Italy has been remarkable, netting an impressive nine goals during his first campaign in Serie A. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch tall, the young forward has showcased his physicality, aerial prowess, and intelligent movement on the field, all of which have caught the attention of several clubs across Europe.

Manchester United, under the management of Erik ten Hag, have taken a keen interest in Hojlund’s progress. As per renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, United have expressed their desire to stay informed about the Danish striker’s situation.

Recent reports from Sky Sports reveal that Man United has even initiated contact with Atalanta regarding a their transfer target.

Hojlund’s burgeoning potential has earned him a place in Denmark’s national squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers. In the last international break in March, he made an impressive impact by scoring five goals in just two matches, further highlighting his talent and attracting the attention of top clubs.

Speaking to local outlet Tipsbladet, Hojlund shared his thoughts on the speculation surrounding a move to Manchester United. He expressed his excitement about the prospect, acknowledging the stature of the club and suggesting that his performances have warranted such interest.

However, he remained cautious about the outcome, acknowledging the fluid nature of the transfer market and the numerous options that clubs consider in their pursuit of strikers.

The Danish striker also revealed that he has signed with a new agency on a trial period for the summer. According to The Athletic, he has joined the SEG agency, which also represents Erik ten Hag, adding further fuel to the rumors of a potential move to Manchester United.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that Manchester United is preparing a bid of €60 million, plus bonuses, to secure Hojlund’s services. However, it is believed that this offer may fall short of Atalanta’s asking price, set at a minimum of €70 million. Hojlund joined Atalanta from Austrian side SK Sturm Graz last summer for a fee of €17 million.

Although there is currently no direct contact between the two clubs, Pedulla suggests that intermediaries are already working behind the scenes to negotiate the potential deal. It is worth noting that Manchester United is reportedly prioritizing the signing of Napoli center-back Kim Min-jae, awaiting the activation of his release clause between July 1-15, as previously reported.

As negotiations and speculation continue, Rasmus Hojlund remains focused on his development at Atalanta. The young striker has expressed his happiness at the club and the team’s qualification for European competition.

However, with the transfer window approaching and clubs in search of quality number nines, Hojlund’s future remains uncertain, leaving fans eagerly waiting to see how events unfold in the coming weeks.
