Man United plotting move that sees Harry Maguire leave

Harry Maguire’s days at Man United might be coming to an end if the Old Trafford sides plot to have Maguire out falls into place.

Manchester United is reportedly exploring the possibility of a swap deal in the upcoming transfer window that would see their captain, Harry Maguire, depart from the club.

This development follows a previous failed attempt to secure a transfer to West Ham during the summer transfer window.

According to The Guardian, Maguire had sought a payoff of approximately £7 million, but he has since refuted these claims in an interview conducted while he was on international duty.

He stated that the West Ham opportunity did not materialize due to a lack of agreement between the clubs and himself.

As a result, Maguire has continued to face challenges in terms of playing time under manager Erik ten Hag in the current season.

Nevertheless, he recently made a start in the 2-1 victory against Brentford just before the international break, delivering a solid performance.

Maguire’s inclusion in the starting lineup was, to some extent, prompted by the absence of Lisandro Martinez, who is sidelined due to a recurrent metatarsal injury from the previous season.

TalkSPORT has reported that AC Milan, the Italian football giants, are now expressing interest in securing Harry Maguire and are preparing a bid for the English center-back in the January transfer window.

AC Milan already has Maguire’s fellow Three Lions teammate, Fikayo Tomori, in their squad, potentially opening the door for a swap deal.

However, it’s worth noting that the asking price for Fikayo Tomori is expected to be significantly higher than what Manchester United might receive for Harry Maguire.

This situation could necessitate Manchester United to engage in player sales to balance their financial books, particularly in light of ongoing concerns related to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations at Old Trafford.
