"Liverpool were lucky" -- Jamie Carragher

Whatever aspirations Liverpool may have towards winning another Premier League title, may have seen its end, according to club legend, Jamie Carragher following their 0-0 draw against Manchester United.

It was a game that saw the Reds fall short of reclaiming the top spot they had lost to Arsenal following the Gunners’ victory at the Emirates.

In his commentary on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher expressed skepticism about Liverpool’s chances of clinching another league title, which the Scousers states is doubtful considering their over reliance on luck throughout the season.

“I don’t think Liverpool are going to win the league. From what I’ve seen in terms of performance, it feels like they’ve had a little bit of luck this season.

“They had bad luck in the Tottenham game of course – but in terms of someone coming off the bench and winning games late, I’m not sure you can continue to do that,” Carragher commented.

The draw against Manchester United meant Liverpool missed out on seizing the opportunity to reclaim their position at the top of the table. Carragher’s analysis centered on what he perceives as a reliance on late-game heroics rather than dominant performances.

Carragher also pointed out Liverpool’s reliance on late-game interventions to secure victories and implied that sustained success through such narrow margins might not be sustainable in the long run.
