I Am Angry – Xavi On Defeat To Almeria

Barcelona’s manager, Xavi Hernandez, has expressed his disappointment after his team suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Almeria on Sunday, in what he called their “worst performance of the season”.

The loss prevented Barcelona from extending their lead at the top of LaLiga, as they missed the opportunity to move 10 points clear of their fierce rivals, Real Madrid. The defeat also ended Barca’s impressive 13-game unbeaten streak in the league.

El Bilal Toure scored the crucial goal in the 45th minute of the match, which proved to be the decisive strike for Almeria in the encounter. Barcelona, who were without the services of star player Lionel Messi, struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout the game.

Speaking after the match, Xavi expressed his frustration with his team’s display, stating that they lacked intensity and a desire to win. He was particularly disappointed as he believed that the game was an opportunity for his team to make a statement in LaLiga.

“I am really angry. It was the worst game of the season from my point of view. It was a day to make a statement in LaLiga, and there is no excuse,” said Xavi. “There was no intensity, there was not even a desire to win, and that worries me. We slipped up and we apologize to the fans.”

Barcelona’s defeat comes at a time when they are in the midst of a title race with Real Madrid. The loss sees them remain at the top of the table but to move further ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.

Xavi’s comments are likely to spark a reaction from his players as they look to bounce back in their next fixture against Real Madrid.
