“What Osimhen is really good at” — Gundogan after UCL clash
Victor Osimhen and Robert Lewandowski, who is the better striker?
FC Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has lauded Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and his club teammate Robert Lewandowski as two of the finest strikers in global football.
The praise came following an intense encounter between FC Barcelona and Napoli in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash. Lewandowski and Osimhen showcased their prowess, standing out for their respective teams during the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock for Barcelona in the 60th minute, demonstrating his clinical finishing ability. However, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen swiftly responded in the 75th minute with a spectacular goal, ensuring the Italian side leveled the score ahead of the second leg on March 12.
Reflecting on the performance of both strikers after the match, Gundogan, who played a significant role in the game, commended Osimhen and Lewandowski. The German midfielder emphasized their goal-scoring prowess and adaptability to different game situations.
“Both are great strikers, they know where the goal is and how to score, and they are good at finishing,” Gundogan remarked.
“I think Robert adapts well to our game; he knows how to control the ball in difficult conditions. Osimhen knows how to be aggressive when he has a player on him, but also if they have different qualities, they are two world-class footballers.”
