The US government disclosed an investment exceeding $600 million in health assistance for Nigeria in 2023, as part of the Nigeria-US Health Assistance partnership.
The aid comprised 83 million bed nets, 22 million malaria preventive treatments, 164 million malaria medicines, and insecticide for 121,000 homes.
Notably, 102 million rapid malaria tests were administered, with health assistance benefiting around 2 million Nigerians living with HIV.
According to Vanguard newspaper, The partnership emphasizes the success in saving lives, reinforcing health systems, and fortifying Nigeria against current and future health threats.
The collaborative efforts also address malaria prevention, HIV eradication, vaccine delivery, and global health security.
