US and UK experts reportedly warns the public of  the rising epidemic of throat cancer and they say that agreed that oral sex is a major contributing factor.

According to researchers, the human papillomavirus (HPV) is responsible for a growing number of cases of throat cancer, and the virus is often spread through oral sex. While HPV is commonly associated with cervical cancer, it can also cause cancers of the head, neck, and throat.

Experts are now urging people to take precautions, such as using condoms or dental dams during oral sex, to reduce their risk of contracting the virus. They also recommend that both boys and girls receive the HPV vaccine, which can prevent most cases of HPV-related cancers.

This news comes as throat cancer rates continue to rise, with the number of cases in the UK doubling over the past two decades. In the US, experts estimate that HPV-related throat cancers will soon surpass cervical cancers as the most common type of HPV-related cancer.

While the link between oral sex and throat cancer may be unsettling, experts say that early detection and treatment can greatly improve a patient’s chances of survival. So if you’re experiencing symptoms such as a persistent sore throat or difficulty swallowing, don’t hesitate to speak to your doctor. Your health could depend on it.
