"He is what Arsenal needs" -- Former USMNT Player

Former USMNT international Janusz Michalik expresses confidence in the pursuit of Ivan Toney from Brentford to Arsenal.

According to Michalik, the potential move of Toney to Arsenal during the January transfer window could be transformative for the North London club’s mentality in the Premier League.

Speculation has linked Toney, currently with Brentford, with a possible switch to Arsenal in the ongoing transfer window.

Arsenal’s recent decline in form has seen them slide down to fourth position on the Premier League table, prompting discussions about potential reinforcements for Mikel Arteta’s team.

Speaking to ESPN and quoted by TBR Football, Michallik shared his perspective:

“Ivan Toney makes sense. I don’t know how long it is going to take him to pick up speed and get back to it. I know he’s been training for a long time. I don’t think it is an issue. He knows the league, he knows how to score in this league.”

Continuing his assessment, Michallik emphasized, “It seems that Arsenal are serious about him and I think he changes the mentality of that team all of a sudden.”
