Granit Xhaka Names Arsenal's Most Important Player

Arsenal midfielder, Granit Xhaka, has named Gabriel Jesus as a ‘very important’ player in the Gunners’ squad. Xhaka made the comments while discussing Jesus’ impending return to the team. Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City last summer, suffered a knee injury during the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has been sidelined since then.

However, the Brazilian international is nearing a return to action and has resumed training with the squad. Jesus has already scored five goals and registered seven assists in 20 games for Arsenal across all competitions. His imminent return is a welcome development for Arsenal, especially after they lost Eddie Nketiah to injury.

Granit Xhaka said:

“Because we lost Eddie as well, it is much more important to have Gabi [Gabriel Jesus] back, Leo as well is injured and he can play in this position. Step by step, I hope that Gabi will be 100% fit to help this team because we know that he can help us. With his attitude, with his personality, he’s very, very important for us.”

Gabriel Jesus is expected to bolster Arsenal’s attacking options and provide competition for star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. With Arsenal fighting for a top-four spot in the Premier League, Jesus’ return will be a welcome boost to their campaign.
