Gary Neville praises Rashford For Not Passing to Ronaldo

The game against West Ham United was a very hard fought one for Manchester United, which was somewhat only possible thanks to Marcus Rashford’s greed at goal; something Gary Neville praises as a key in United’s victory.

Marcus Rashford’s contribution to Manchester United’s 1-0 Premier League victory over West Ham on Sunday prompted Gary Neville to claim that the England international has undergone a metamorphosis.

All it took for the Red Devils to defeat David Moyes’ side on the road and win all three points at Old Trafford was Rashford’s header in the 38th minute.

Neville said that the English striker is starting to accept responsibility and does not perceive himself as Cristiano Ronaldo’s understudy.

Instead of constantly attempting to transfer the ball to Ronaldo, Rashford is now trying to score goals and taking some risks, the speaker noted.

Just one day before his 25th birthday, Rashford scored his 100th goal for the Red Devils.

“He’s doing so much good off the pitch,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“There were times last year where he’d get in that position and he was hesitant and he’d pass it back and take the easy option.

“There were also moments last year, when [Cristiano] Ronaldo was available, he’d pass it to him like he was subservient to him. I feel now he’s willing to take [responsibility] and then play him in when he needs to.”

On a side note, Gary Neville’s praises for Rashford not passing the ball off to Cristiano Ronaldo to finish off may be in response to CR7 snubing the United legend at full time.
