FBI launches manhunt for Majid Dastjani Farahani

Assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani comes back with its consequences as FBI moves in to stop revenge plot by Majid Dastjani Farahani.

The FBI has initiated an urgent manhunt for Majid Dastjani Farahani, an Iranian secret intelligence official allegedly orchestrating plans to assassinate officials from the Trump administration.

Federal agents have disclosed that Farahani is actively seeking allies to carry out these plots, purportedly in retaliation for the US-ordered assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

According to reports, Farahani has been attempting to recruit individuals for lethal operations targeting current and former US government officials.

Additionally, he stands accused of coordinating surveillance activities on religious sites, businesses, and other facilities within the United States. Farahani’s affiliations are linked to Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security.

The FBI, through its Miami office, issued an urgent notice seeking information on Farahani’s whereabouts. Described as fluent in Spanish and known to travel frequently between Iran and Venezuela, where there exists a friendly relationship between the ruling regimes, Majid Dastjani Farahani poses a significant threat, the FBI warned.

Iran’s vow to avenge Soleimani’s killing, orchestrated by a drone strike in Iraq in January 2020 under then-President Donald Trump’s administration, underscores the gravity of the situation.

The FBI has identified other potential targets of Iranian retaliation, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Brian Hook, Trump’s envoy to Tehran. Both Pompeo and Hook are reportedly under heightened security measures due to the elevated threat level.

Farahani’s activities led to his sanctioning by the US Treasury Department in December, with allegations of involvement in suppressing dissenting voices and targeting opponents of the Iranian regime.

The Treasury Department accused Iran of engaging in transnational repression, including rendition and plotting lethal actions against activists, journalists, and foreign officials.

The FBI urges anyone with information on Farahani to contact their local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or consulate immediately.
