"Iran will not wait for another 12 days to respond" -- Iran warns

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has issued a stern warning in response to Israel‘s recent threats of retaliation on Iran.

President Raisi declares that any action against Iranian interests will be met with a severe and immediate response.

Raisi’s statement, reported by the Iranian Student News Agency on Tuesday, comes in the wake of escalating tensions between Iran and Israel following Tehran’s weekend drone and missile attack.

“We categorically declare that the smallest action against Iranian interests will certainly be met with a severe, widespread and painful response against any perpetrator,” Raisi emphasized during a conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Israel’s military Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, had previously stated on Monday that Iran’s attack on Israel, which was perceived as retaliation for the April 1 bombing of the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus, warranted a response from Israel.

In response to Israel’s stance, Iran’s deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani emphasized Tehran’s readiness to swiftly counter any Israeli retaliation.

Bagheri Kani asserted that Iran’s response would not be delayed, stating, “Iran will not wait for another 12 days to respond,” during an interview with state TV on Monday night.
