Starlink donates terminals to aid Brazil flood relief efforts
Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to X to announce a significant contribution towards the relief efforts in flood-stricken Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Musk revealed that @Starlink would be donating 1000 terminals to emergency responders and providing free usage for all terminals in the region until recovery is achieved.
The move comes as Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva declared a state of public calamity, with over two-thirds of the state’s cities affected by flooding.
As the region grapples with the aftermath of the disaster, local authorities anticipate ongoing challenges, including potential further rainfall in the coming days.
With thousands displaced and rescue efforts underway, Musk’s gesture aims to support emergency response teams and affected communities during this trying time.
