Why Lagos explores Blue Rail Line extension to Ogun State, collaboration underway

The Lagos State Government is in discussions with the Ogun State government to extend the Blue Rail Line to Agbara, an official revealed during an inspection of the ongoing Blue Line Phase 2 project in Lagos.

Mr. Olasukanmi Okusaga, Director of Rail Transport at LAMATA, disclosed this collaboration while overseeing the progress of the project handled by CCECC.

The project, awarded in 2023, is set to be completed within three years and encompasses the construction of six stations, including Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, LASU, and Okokomaiko.

Additionally, three bridges are planned at Maza Maza, Satellite town, and LASU, covering a distance of 14 kilometers.

Okusaga expressed satisfaction with the current progress and emphasized ongoing discussions with the Ogun government regarding the extension to Agbara.

Plans also include the construction of a depot in Okokomaiko to enhance operational efficiency.
