In response to a devastating fire outbreak at Idumota Market, Lagos State Government has halted commercial operations in the central region.

The fire, which ignited early Tuesday, razed two buildings and caused extensive damage to goods valued at millions of naira.

The affected areas, including Dosumu, Nnamdi Azikwe, and Moshalashi, witnessed the destructive impact, prompting the suspension.

Bola Lawal, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Central Business District, emphasized the move’s necessity to safeguard lives and maintain order.

Lawal urged market vendors to cooperate with emergency teams for effective response to the crisis.
